Expo announces wineries and restaurants participating in food & wine events
Sebring, Florida, August 13, 2012—The 2013 U.S. Sport Aviation Expo will bring back the food and wine tasting events for Friday and Saturday of Expo, thanks to the overwhelming success from 2012. The tastings will again take place at the Sebring Regional Airport (SEF), in Sebring, Florida.
The four food and wine pairing events with legendary chefs and world-renowned vineyards will take place at 3:00 PM and 6:00 Pm both Friday and Saturday of Expo. All of these tasting events benefit the Humane Society of Highlands County.
Local award winning chefs and wine experts will enlighten guests on the science of pairing delicious wines with fine cuisine such as Gravalox Crostini’s, Crab Cakes with Dill Sauce and Crème brûlée created by Marva Roberts, Owner and Executive Chef of Peppercorns in Lake Placid.
Group 44 Hangar has again graciously donated the venue for this year’s food and wine events. Guests will have the opportunity to view the most spectacular collection of historic aircraft and fabulous racecars while they dine.

Expo is welcoming back Chalet Suzanne and newcomer Peppercorns for the tasting events. Republic National Distributing Company will showcase Castelo Banfi Montalcino, King Estate, North by Northwest, Concha y Toro, Silver Oak, and Cakebread Cellars.

Republic National Distributing Company
These world-renowned wines are being brought to Expo by Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC). Republic is the second largest beverage alcohol distributor of premium wine and spirits in the U.S. An executive operating committee works to provide the company with the diversity and flexibility to manage the changing needs of its customers and suppliers.
Local participating restaurants
Peppercorns, a well-known establishment in Lake Placid, has been serving breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday for eight years. Before opening her restaurant, Marva catered extensively throughout Florida. From private dinner parties to business events like the annual Citizens Bank Christmas party—Marva was very busy. Explains Marva, “I always loved to cook! And, really, I just taught myself.” Marva is an avid gardener utilizing fresh herbs and vegetables from her garden to supplement the restaurant. Of course, she also purchases fresh from local growers.
Marva will create her luscious three-course tasting on Friday, January 18 at 3pm.
Chalet Suzanne Restaurant, Inn, and Public Airstrip
This enchanting 26-room Inn, nestled on a 100-acre estate with a licensed 2,300-foot airstrip, is a gracious oasis amidst the excitement of Central Florida attractions, catering to discriminating guests of all ages. The Chalet has been a favorite spot for gourmands from around the world since 1931, with a pedigree of fine dining awards and recognition in the hospitality industry. Twice selected as one of the top ten Country Inns of America, the quaint depression-era guest-rooms are an experience in them selves.
